Vitamin D and Cavities

This is interesting. Did you know that research shows that Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to cavities?

Key facts: Vitamin D and Cavities

Research has found a 74% reduction in cavities of people who had the most sun exposure.

There’s a 49% decrease in cavities among people who took vitamin D3. This is great news considering our rainy west coast weather and life sometimes getting in the way of getting outdoors.

Studies also found much lower vitamin D levels in children with severe childhood cavities. Those D3 chewables for your kids might be well worth it.

We do get questions now and then regarding natural ways to reverse cavities and how to get stronger teeth naturally. We thought this was an excellent infographic to tie into this. Taking Vitamin D supplements or getting into the sunshine are pretty easy and low risk ways to try to strengthen up your teeth. Perhaps it’s something that many people aren’t aware of.

Along those lines…

Another way to strengthen tooth enamel is MI Paste.

If there is an existing cavity, in some cases Silver Diamine Flouride may be applied topically by your dentist to stop cavities in their tracks.
