Preschool and Kindergarten Tours of Dental Offices

At Kits Family Dental, we believe in prevention, and we believe that reaching out to kids is one of the best ways to get kids excited about oral care. Dr. Mak, Dr. Iwagami and Dr. Sam love to teach toddlers and small children about their teeth and how to keep them healthy.  As part of this, we have developed an informative and fun complimentary dental health program for preschool and kindergarten age children, their parents, teachers, and teacher aides.

Dentist Office Tours: The most effective and fun educational program is the one in which your group visits our office in Kitsilano at 2223 West Broadway (Suite 209), near Broadway and Yew. We usually invite one or two children to try out the dentist chair for a free dental exam. In an age appropriate manner, we talk about the importance of baby teeth, brushing, flossing, why we need checkups and why and how to choose a healthy diet. Besides learning about their teeth, children also get to interact with the doctors themselves, which can reduce any anxiety that a child might have about visiting a dental office. Kids can see how xrays are developed, learn proper brushing and flossing techniques, and even get their hands on our dental instruments to see how they work.

At the end of the visit, each child will receive some written material such as pamphlets on dental care, a business card from Kits Family Dental as well as a toothbrush and mini toothpaste.

We can also come to your school, preschool, daycare or parent group!

If you are interested in having your child’s group take part in an office tour, please call the office at (604) 738-1816. Our office manager, Queena, would be happy to discuss the details and arrange a visit. Tours and programs run all year, and we are open most days from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
