Invisalign®
Get straighter teeth and an aligned bite with Invisalign treatment. The removable aligners are clear, comfortable, and convenient…just like Kits Family Dental!
Transform your smile without a hassle
Our Vancouver Invisalign providers can help you get a beautiful smile and healthy bite without braces. Invisalign treatment involves a series of custom-made clear aligners that work their magic by incrementally shifting your teeth into place. Each set of aligners brings you one step closer to your final results.
Why choose Invisalign? Because it’s all about freedom and comfort! No brackets and wires means less irritation, easier brushing and flossing, and zero food restrictions (bring on the popcorn!). Plus, the aligners are practically invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
We use Invisalign to treat teens and adults with a range of orthodontic issues. In fact, most problems that can be fixed with braces will also respond to Invisalign treatment.
Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can eat what you want during treatment, brush and floss like you normally do, and play sports or an instrument without worry.
The aligners are smooth, clear, and custom-molded to your mouth. Most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.
What to expect when getting Invisalign
It all starts with a consultation at our cozy office. Your Invisalign dentist will examine your teeth and bite and evaluate your diagnostic records to make sure you’re a good candidate for aligner therapy. They’ll walk you through their findings and answer any questions.
A team member will then take photos and digital impressions with our iTero® Element scanner. Using the images, the dentist will do an AI-generated simulation of what your teeth could look like when you finish Invisalign treatment.
The dentist will use Invisalign software to design your smile and determine the sequence of when each tooth will move. They’ll email you a digital file and set up a phone consult to review the treatment plan in detail and answer additional questions.
The Invisalign lab will use 3D printing technology to translate our treatment plan into a series of custom clear aligners. When your aligners are ready, you’ll come by the office for an Invisalign delivery appointment, where we give you the trays and explain how to use them to achieve the desired results.
We recommend wearing your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day for the best outcome. You’ll only take them out to eat, drink anything aside from plain water, and brush and floss your teeth.
You’ll move on to your next set of aligners every one to two weeks, depending on your treatment plan. You’ll come in for a checkup about every eight weeks to ensure your progress is on track.
When your teeth reach their final positions, you’ll have a stunning smile to show for it. Your dentist will create custom retainers to help you maintain your results for life.
How does Invisalign work?
Your dentist digitally designs your new smile. Invisalign then fabricates a series of custom clear aligners according to the dentist’s specifications. Each set of aligners is pre-programmed to achieve specific tooth movements by exerting steady, gentle pressure.
You’ll wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, moving on to the next tray every one to two weeks until your teeth are in their final places.
What can Invisalign treat?
Our Kitsilano Invisalign providers can treat teens and adults with a variety of orthodontic issues, including crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. While Invisalign used to be reserved for mild cases, thanks to improvements in the materials and technology, the aligners can usually fix the same problems that braces can.
How long does Invisalign treatment last?
The length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on your diagnosis, the severity of your case, how your body responds to treatment, and how closely you follow the instructions for wearing your aligners. For most patients, treatment ranges from six to 18 months.
How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign is comparable to the cost of traditional braces. While we wish we could give you a number, ultimately, it will depend on your specific treatment plan. The good news is that many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign the same way they cover braces.
Who is a candidate for Invisalign?
Most teens and adults are great candidates for Invisalign! That said, seeing an Invisalign provider for an exam is the only way to know for certain whether clear aligners are the best option for your case.
