Could Limpets Have the Strongest Teeth on Earth?

Yes, limpets might have the strongest teeth on earth, and, in fact, limpets teeth might contain the strongest biological material ever discovered! If you’re not aware, limpets are a marine mollusks with shallow conical shells and a broad muscular foot, noted for the way they cling tightly to rocks.

This is a very exciting discovery because up until now it was thought that spider silk was the strongest biological material. The creatures that are in the running now, are small aquatic snails called limpets.

Read more about the science and research behind it all here on CNN. You may have seen our recent tweet about it too.

And if you’d like to find out how to make your teeth as strong as possible, trust the Vancouver dentists at Kits Family Dental in Kitsilano, BC! Specifically, MI paste can be applied directly to the surface of your teeth. Maybe your teeth will still not be as strong as a limpets, but MI paste can re-mineralize teeth and strengthen tooth enamel.
