Kits Family Dental now has FOUR female dentists in Vancouver BC
Dr. Robin Mak
One of the female dentists at this Vancouver/Kitsilano practice, Dr. Robin Mak has been providing quality, gentle dental care since 2006 and is the principal at Kits Family Dental. Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Robin Mak followed in her father’s footsteps and graduated from UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry in 2006.
Robin’s professional associations and memberships include the Canadian Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the British Columbia Dental Association, and the California Center for Advanced Dental Studies.
Dr. Sakura Iwagami
Also at Kits Family Dental is Dr. Sakura Iwagami, another female dentist. Dr. Iwagami has been working in the Lower Mainland since 2003 as a general dentist. She grew up in Burnaby, BC, and is a second generation Japanese-Canadian. Dr. Iwagami completed her dental degree in 2003 at UBC. She has worked in various family dental practice settings and even participated in a volunteer dental mission to Guatemala.
Dr. Courtney Butler
Dr. Courtney Butler is with Kits Family Dental on Tuesdays only.
Dr. Butler was born and raised in Vancouver. She obtained her Bachelor of Science with distinction degree from the University of Victoria and completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at UBC.
Dr. Butler comes from a family of health care professionals and is dedicated to healing and caring for others. Her father is an eye surgeon and her mother is a registered nurse. Also, she has had extensive volunteer experience in dentistry both here in Canada and abroad, including East Vancouver, Chemainus, Vietnam and Guatemala!
Her patients best interests always come first and her philosophy is to provide the highest quality treatment for patients in a comprehensive, conservative and comfortable manner.
Dr. Ann Lu
Our newest dentist, Dr. Lu is committed to ongoing education and training. She searches through scientific literature to find the latest studies and articles on dental materials, techniques, and research. In this way, she can provide evidence-based dentistry and the best possible care to her patients based on the current evidence available.
Not only does Dr. Lu believe that a patient’s dental care should be collaborative and comprehensive, but it is also of the utmost importance that her patients are comfortable as dentistry is a very personal experience. She recognizes that patients come from different backgrounds and have different needs. There are multiple paths to finding solutions to patients’ limitations to dental care and Dr. Lu enjoys working with patients to create personal plans to reach their dental goals. Her compassion and pleasant demeanor coupled with her enthusiasm for her work provides for a positive patient environment.
